Tagaranna VII Literarture Day
Introduction
Tagaranna VII literary day: “ Coffin full of colorful clothes”
on SATURDAY, JULY 12, 2025 in KIPRI TALU, TAGARANNA from noon to sunset.
The traditional literary day will offer new and interesting meetings with writers, book and ceramics sale, an art exhibition, music, theatre play, tasty treats, activities for children in the Playmobil House. There will also be a hearing bus. See you there! The all-round event is free of charge, with food and drinks available to buy on site, organizers offer cake and coffee. Supporters: Eesti Kultuurkapital, Saaremaa vald, Võimalus, Pointprint, Spetsiaalne OÜ, Adama talu, Tiit Pruuli.
PROGRAMME:
12.00 Opening of the Literary Day: Maimu Berg and Julia Laffranque. Introduction of the performers, joint photo.
500 years of Estonian books: Triin Ploom-Niitra, Estonian Year of the Book Project Manager.
12.30 Our Baltic Germans - hate or pride?
Saaremaa's rebellious female manor-owners on the Baltic German ‘gentlemanly morality’ - Professor Liina Lukas, professor and translator.
Author Piret Jaaks on her novel “Daughters of Heaven.”
13.30 “My Son” - short play by Maimu Berg. Starring Raivo Adlas, Maimu Berg, Nora Ader, Harald Tõru, Piret Kuub, Julia, Léo Lennart, Oscar Helmut and Tobias Louis Laffranque.
14.30 Lunch break, during which you can eat, go on the hearing bus, buy books and Mall Kivimaa's ceramics, and children can play in the Playmobili house.
15.30 A man of Küdema roots masquerading as a South Estonian: writer Mehis Heinsaar.
16.00 Ensemble “Hääled” (Voices), Liina Leemet (vocals, guitar), Karmen Linnamägi (vocals, lyre, crota), Leelo Viita (vocals), Tõnu Vorms (vocals, flute), Tarmo Teekivi (vocals, guitar), Lauri Randveer (double bass).

17.00 Publishers present new books. Presentation of the book "My Saaremaa"! The author Olavi Antons and the publisher Epp Petrone.
18.00 Poet and artist Kristiina Viin opens an exhibition of her paintings.
19.00 Two Silvia: “Letters to Stepmother” by Silvia Mälksoo about Silvia Rannamaa.
20.00 I dreamed I saw KÕIV:
Folklore scientist Jaan Sudak "Dream and dreams in Estonian folklore".
